Looks like a great deal to me ! ! !
cleaning
back to the blog
I lost the book that had my password in it since I had changed it and so I never could get back on here, then I listened to the 700 Club show today about hoarding and decided to go through my books on the bookshelf and either list some of them on Amazon or give some away. There was my green book with my password, so here I am again.
Today is the National Day of prayer. I found this prayer guide I intend to follow indefinitely. http://commit2pray.com/7×7/
Some tulips in bloom, but alas, snow is expected tonight 1-3 inches. Oh dear, the tulips can probably handle it and also anything else growing outside.
The farmer market begins tomorrow. I told the guy I would not come because of the weather and he said. that is fine, probably a wise decision. In a week the weather should be a balmy 69 degrees.
a good helping the homeless idea!
Maundy Thursday
Today is Maundy Thursday, a day to remember Jesus eating His last supper with His disciples which led up to His crucifixion and then resurrection.
I am busy cleaning and planning for family Easter dinner at our house. It’s a matter of cleaning bathrooms, dusting, vacuuming, straightening up and planning and fixing the meal. It will be a nice day to remember the new life we have because of Jesus’ obedience.
“He became obedient unto death.” –Phil. 2:8
Thank you, Lord, for Your perfect sacrifice!
I enjoy seeing the new growth of the lettuce and making a couple other swc containers and transplanting other plants and seeing seedlings grow. It’s getting springy out even though some snow is still with us.
6 hours later – most of the snow is gone
getting ready to put my seed potatoes that are sprouting in the sack in this space I cleared of leaves – wonderful compost type soil for the potatoes.
snow stay-at-home day
Got a couple things accomplished so far:
cleaned and rearranged bedroom
alphabetized amazon for-sale books and put them back in boxes under our bed
made path in snow around house
vacuumed bathroom
still have more to do so better get bussssyyyy
pictures of snow we received in the last 15 or so hours and top picture is latest from dear daughter in Chile; bottom pic is my goofy brother who works for a community theater and has lots of friends
Dear husband snowblowed the driveway and then a beautiful sunsset.
patriotic mud flaps
We saw these mud flaps driving down the highway today.
Dear hubby is snow plowing on this lovely March 23 snowy day. The following photo is at 6:20 p.m. I guess we could call it a spring wonderland !
I thought of a project to do. Found these molding boards on side of the street along with that box I recovered. This will be better for my spices – the boxes worked okay but have to look through all of them to find something – excited about my new idea, except I have to wait for some touch up white paint to dry before putting spices on it.
alrighty – got it done – much better
March 22 – snow :(
Here we are a couple days into Spring with possible 8 inches more of snow coming our way by Sunday 😦
It started to look springy a couple days ago, then the flakes started. But, I was born during the ’51 flood and it was snowing/sleeting on that day in April, so nothing has changed that much.
diet: must do better – I plan to weigh in on Monday so must eat lots of celery 🙂
organizing and cleaning house: must do better but have lots of time to work on it considering I’ll probably be shut in through Sunday at least
bought a bunch of books for 50 cents or less at salvation army – most of them I can’t sell but they are all good to read. (can’t sell them on amazon because there are already bunches of them for sale for 1 cent )
Here are a couple of fun ideas to do:
This isn’t my onion picture, but it gave me the idea to do this with garlic (picture below) – we’ll see how it goes; maybe I’ll put more garlic in, but probably too late now – too hard to cut the holes with the soil already in, but I can always make another.
Another was made – 26 cloves rather than 14:
18th of March
Today is the 18th of March. To read about chai:Â http://judaism.about.com/od/judaismbasics/g/chai.htm
Today is a good day for new beginnings. My large cherry tomatoes are popping up. I have a new box for my knitting (see it also on the previous post). I am starting the countdown to our son’s wedding in June. I hope to be down at least 15 lbs. by then.
Also need to get back to dear Fly Lady.
Today I need to Shine My Sink. before picture:
after picture – kitchen sink shines 🙂
recipe for tonight:
BROWN RICE & LENTIL CASSEROLE (adapted from food.com)
3 c. broth (veggie)
3/4 c. lentils
1/2 c. rice
3/4 c. chopped onion
1 tsp. Italian seasoning
1/4 tsp. garlic powder.
Preheat to 300 degrees. Mix all together and put in 11″X7″ pan. Cover and bake 1 hour and 10 minutes. Remove cover and bake 20 minutes more. Sprinkle with Parmeson.
finished product – although I added brussel sprouts, and some diced tomatoes and used no Parmeson.

don’t live in an apartment but found this really good! Now that dear daughter has moved on to another state I need to buckle down and work on the house; easier to read about than do it, but must get busy.
1) Dealing With What Comes Through The Door Set up a small area by the front door to act as a “landing strip” for incoming items into your home.
2) Do Your Dishes After Every Meal
3) Laundry If you have a washer and dryer at home, do a little bit each day.
4) Whistle While You Work
5) Set a Timer

3. Surface clean bedrooms (put away toys, clothes, dust)
4. Surface clean “extra” rooms (basement, office, play room)
5. Surface clean living room and kitchen
6. Clean bathrooms
7. Clean all interior windows (white vinegar and newspaper works great and is cheap!)
8. Sweep and vacuum all floors in the house (don’t forget stairs)
9. Surface clean bedrooms
10. Deep clean living room (mirrors, baseboards, dust artwork)
11. Clean bathrooms
12. Clean out closets (hang up clothes, mittens, jackets, hats)
13. Surface clean “extra” rooms
14. Deep clean bedrooms (organize drawers, check under bed, tidy closet, dust artwork, fans, lights, mop)
15. Surface clean living room and kitchen
16. Deep clean bathrooms (clean inside drawers, inside of trash cans, tops of mirrors, tile, mop)
17. Clean all door knobs, phones, entertainment equipment (remote controls), switch plates, banisters and other things that are repeatedly touched.
18. Clean out the refrigerator, take stock of food, organize pantry

20. Surface clean living room and kitchen
21. Surface clean bathrooms
22. Surface clean bedrooms
23. Sweep and vacuum all floors in the house
24. Clean linen closet, straighten towels, sheets or regular closet if not applicable

27. Surface clean bathrooms
28. Surfaces clean bedrooms
29. Clean one item you’ve been meaning to get to and haven’t (deep clean your stove, wipe down all light fixtures, tackle a particularly unruly area)
30. Sweep and vacuum all floors in the house
To this list you can also add chores that are to be done monthly or quarterly. It’s easier to plan for larger tasks like steam cleaning a sofa or heavy traffic hallway, then it feels like part of the routine instead of that thing you keep putting off and dreading.
Habits are formed by doing and one of the best ways to change a bad habit is to replace it with another action. So if the time spent right when you come home from work is usually filled with email reading and a small nap, try switching it out with your cleaning instead. Making the 20 minute time slot routine will build good habits and help you stay on top of the game without feeling like it’s a real chore.
