makeshift light

Need some light in your home during a power outage or on a camping trip ?

Slap a headlamp onto a gallon water jug pointed inward and you will be amazed at the amount of light you get! I’ve seen this idea in action and it works !

It creates a great night lamp when the power is out and family members are wandering towards the bathroom.

easy granola recipe

I love to make this – so easy.

Granola

3 c. old fashioned oatmeal

1/2 tsp. cinnamon

1/4 tsp. salt

1/3 c. honey

1/4 c. oil

1 tsp. vanilla

1/2 c. dried fruit

1/2 c. nuts and/or seeds

Heat oven to 300 degrees. Put rack in the middle. Stir oats, cinnamon and salt together. In another container, mix honey, oil and vanilla. Mix this all together. Bake 15 minutes spread out on a cookie sheet or cake pan. Stir. Bake 5-15 minutes more. Add fruits and nuts. Put in closed container to store.

picnik to close

I’ve enjoyed picnik so much to play around with my pictures. Now the premium effect options are free until it closes April 19. Here is a fun picture of a mountain in CO. My silly son and some friends camped out on a mountain last night on a rock in a tent – they looked forward to the sunrise. They have fun.
