caracus

This morning, our daughter’s last Sunday before taking off next saturday into the wild blue yonder for 9 months wanted to visit her favorite church to say her goodbyes. I wanted to go with her because I like the church, but we never called that church our home because of the 19 mile distance from our house. However, our 2 kiddos went there during high school years so they are more than well acquainted with our son and daughter.

The guest speaker was a missionary couple to Caracus, Venezuela. The started a church there and gave it over to a national. They also have some property with an orphanage. This wonderful church we visited this morning will be taking a team to help with various projects there. I WANT TO GO ! ! ! So exciting.

Then I came home, ate a bite and helped my husband with the homeless serving of coffee and hot chocolate. We meet with friends there who bring sack lunches and then we give them the Panera bread we pick up on Friday nights to make sandwiches and pastries for the next week. It’s a great life – today it was raining so not so many out there – we were only there 40 minutes and sometimes it is 3 hours. God is good. Psalm 68:9-10 “Thou, O God, didst send a plentiful rain, whereby thou didst confirm thine inheritance, when it was weary. Thy congregation hath dwelt therein: thou, O God, hast prepared of thy goodness for the poor.”

p.s. won’t be happening that we get to go on their church’s trip to here, but I am happy for them and happy I even heard about the orphanage there.
