Molasses snack cake

1 egg, beaten or substitute flax and water

1 cup molasses

1/2 cup boiling water

2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon salt

2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

2 teaspoons ground ginger

1/3 cup vegetable oil

Combine egg, molasses, and water, stir well.
Combine flour, soda, salt, cinnamon, and ginger, stir into molasses mixture.
Add oil, mix well.
Pour into a greased and floured 11 x 7 x 1 1/2-inch baking pan, bake at 350° for 25 to 30 minutes.
